Types of Information Bauer’s IT Collects, How It Is Collected, and How It Is Used
Personal and Personally Identifying Information: You provide us information about yourself, including your name, address, phone number and e-mail address. This information is used to notify you of changes in our offerings, and provide you with a better experience. As further explained below, in the course of providing you with additional services you may request related to Bauer’s IT, we may use the personal information we have collected about you in partnership with outside companies, with your permission. If you correspond with us by e-mail, we may retain the content of your e-mail messages, your email address and our responses.
In most instances, Bauer’s IT staff will have access only to aggregate information in the course of providing a service to you. Some examples of exceptions include:
- Bauer’s IT support staff may review your personal information if you request us to do so as part of a support call, and to provide safety and security benefits, where it is required by law.
- Bauer’s IT marketing staff may review your personal information to provide you with additional benefits. For instance, we may offer, at our discretion, referral programs and/or preferential rates to our volume riders.
Cookies: Bauer’s IT sends a “cookie” to your computer or smart phone that contains an identification number unique to the device you are using but does not collect personal information about you. A persistent cookie will remain on your hard drive after you close your browser. Your browser may use persistent cookies on subsequent visits to the site. Persistent cookies can be removed by following your web browser’s directions. A session cookie is temporary and disappears after you close your browser. You can reset your web browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some features of the Service may not function properly if the ability to accept cookies is disabled.
Local Storage Objects: We may use Flash Local Storage Objects (“Flash LSOs”) to store your Site preferences and to personalize your visit. Flash LSOs are different from cookies in the amount and type of data stored. Typically, you cannot control, delete, or disable the acceptance of Flash LSOs through your web browser. For more information on Flash LSOs, or to learn how to manage your settings for Flash LSOs, go to the Adobe Flash Player Help Page, choose “Global Settings Panel,” and follow the instructions. To view the Flash LSOs currently on your computer, choose “Website Storage Settings Panel,” and follow the instructions to review and, if you choose, to delete any specific Flash LSO.
IP Address and Logins: As is true of most Web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. We log each visit to each web page, either directly or through a provider of such tracking solution. A log entry can contain information typically found in the “header” of your web browser’s request such as the browser type you used, your Internet Protocol address, and the date and time of day. We may also log your cookie’s identification number and the URL of the last site you visited. If you login, we may also log how you use the system, such as the number of tickets you have bought in a given session. This log information is important for security, audit, quality improvement, and monitoring the functionality of our Service. Your IP address may serve to monitor network access and response time, diagnose problems with our website or mobile application, and gather aggregate demographic data such as the geographic distribution of our traffic. We do not tie IP addresses to our customers’ personally identifying information.
Web Beacons: We may use clear gifs in HTML-based e-mails sent to our users to track which e-mails are opened by recipients. The information is used to enable more accurate reporting, improve the effectiveness of our marketing, and make Bauer’s IT a more efficient experience for our users. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with unique identifiers, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Internet users. Clear gifs are embedded invisibly in web pages or e-mails. We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers’ personal information.
Third Party Analytics: We use automated devices and applications, such as Google Analytics, to evaluate usage of our Site and, to the extent permitted, our Application. We also may use other analytic means to evaluate our Services, performance and user experiences. We do not share your personal information with these third parties.
Data Generated from User Content: Bauer’s IT may retain your profile information and user content for a commercially reasonable time for backup, archival, or audit purposes, or to maintain and improve its service. Bauer’s IT may retain and continue to use indefinitely all information (including user content) contained in your communications to other users or posted to public or semi-public areas of the Service after termination or deactivation of your member account. Any personal information or content that you voluntarily disclose for posting to the Service, such as user content, becomes available to the public, as controlled by any applicable privacy settings. For example, if you post comments on the Bauer’s IT blog, you should be aware that any personally identifying information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users of these fora, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the personally identifying information you choose to submit via our blogs. If you remove information that you posted to the Service, copies may remain viewable in cached and archived pages of the Service.
A Note to Users Outside the United States: Your Personal Data may be processed in the country in which it was collected and in other countries – including the United States – where laws regarding processing of Personal Data may be less stringent than the laws in your country
