Job Summary

Human Resources Manager

Primary Objectives:

The Human Resources Manager assists with the implementation of Human Resources and Company policies and procedures.

The Human Resources Manager originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.

The Human Resources Manager coordinates the implementation of services, policies, and programs, through the Human Resources staff; reports to the CEO and Owner and assists and advises Company managers about Human Resources issues.


Responsibilities and Duties

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Performance management and improvement systems
  • Organizational and space planning; assists with onboarding/offboarding
  • HRIS systems implementation and maintenance of Paycom
  • Organizational development
  • Employee orientation, development, and training
  • Employee relations
  • Company-wide committee facilitation
  • Company employee communication
  • Compensation and benefits administration
  • Employee safety, welfare, wellness and health
  • Supervising the Benefits Administrator

The Human Resources Manager will also be responsible for the following:

  • Assisting the President with implementation of policies
  • Safety of the workforce
  • Filing, corrective actions, appointments, and the recruiting schedule
  • Assisting the President with the development of a superior workforce
  • Assisting the President with the development of the Human Resources department
  • Assisting with development of an employee-oriented Company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance
  • Assisting the Recruiting department with ongoing development
  • Assisting the President and the Human Resources department while any of the Human Resources staff is taking PTO, or on sick leave

Qualifications and Skills


  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources
  • Competence in various Human Resources functional areas; recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, and organizational development.
  • Training for EEO, Harassment, ADA, FMLA & safety
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information in a professional manner
  • Demonstrates an elevated level of judgment and discretion
  • Self-starter, with a “let’s get things done” attitude
  • Must possess a high sense of urgency, initiative, and common sense
  • Must act in a professional and courteous manner, and demonstrate an ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, prioritizing and organizing workload to meet deadlines
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work well in an environment subject to changing priorities and demands
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player with a positive attitude
  • Track record of performance management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline
  • Strong Knowledge of compensation and benefits
  • HR certification (SHRM/PHR) a plus
  • Experience in the transportation field a Plus
